Cooking, and baking especially, has a reputation for being complicated. Books and shows that imply you have to spend hours working to make something fancy. The funny thing is, that's not necessarily true. Christina Tosi has chronicled her time working in a few different kitchens in this book and has detailed some of her best recipes, tips, and tricks. You want to make a cake but don't feel confident about frosting it perfectly? She's got you. You want to make something that feels like your grandmother made it? Yep, that's in here too. You want to make an ugly pie that tastes so good you dream about it months later? Oh yeah...and I'm sill dreaming about that pie. The recipes in here are easy to follow and well-explained and the end results are pretty flawless. Some of the ingredients are harder to find, but that's because Tosi likes to think outside the box, and I love that! Don't be afraid, try out some new techniques and make some new things. You'll probably find a new favorite!
