This is a wonderful piece of historical fiction about a unique place in time. Prohibition and a disastrous floods show the reader an unrecognizable America. The characters are tough, knocked about by their respective experiences. This was a time when people got by on little and expected less. "The Tilted World" is simply written and full of fascinating historical details.
